Reliance Communications (RCom) has finally announced the much awaited launch of Reliance 3G services, starting with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, along with the city of Chandigarh. The 3G network offers a theoretical peak download speed of up to 28Mbps.
Reliance 3G services will offer features such as video-calling, mobile TV, video streaming and applications access at super-fast speeds on a wide variety of both mobile phone and personal computing devices with the plans starting from 199 Rupees a month to 2,499 Rupees a month according to data usage limit.
The company has also lined up packages on a daily basis starting from Rs.10 and beyond depending on the application and content requirement of the customer. Subscribers will also have the option to pay based on per-use, per-second or per-week basis.
The company says that it will be launching Reliance 3G services across all 13 telecom circles, where it holds 3G licenses, by end of Fiscal 2010-11. The company is targeting a national footprint of Reliance 3G services through an alliance with 3G license holders in the balance 9 telecom circles during the course of next year.
